A cookbook from messy notes
Turn six kitchen scribbles into a printable little book without inventing a single amount.
- About 20 minutes
- For home cooks collecting recipes from their own non-sensitive notes.
- Runs in Claude Code and OMP
What the agent made
Ran it for real with Claude Code 2.1.292 and OMP 18.8.5 on 2026-10-08, in an empty session with no saved memory. Your result will differ.

The same prompt in OMP made its own version: open what OMP made. Two runs, two different results: that is normal.

Unzip it: you get a folder called

Read the six .txt recipe notes in this practice folder. Make one self-contained cookbook.html: linked contents, each recipe on a separate printed page, ingredients, numbered steps, source filename, and blank notes space. Preserve every quantity and temperature exactly; clearly mark missing amounts, unclear steps, and uncertain times instead of guessing. Include print CSS and a visible list of unresolved questions. Use ASCII punctuation throughout. No external assets or network calls. Do not change input files, leave this folder, install packages, use APIs, or fetch anything.
The prompt asks the agent to stay in this folder; it cannot enforce that. Read each file change and command before you approve it.
Check it yourself
Open
cli-practice/cookbook.htmlin your web browser (double-click it), then:Human check: Compare amounts in all six notes against the pages; find the flagged missing amounts and times, then open Print Preview and check each recipe starts on its own page.
When we checked the recording above: Compared all six recipe ingredient amounts and 400 F/350 F cooking temperatures with fictional samples; gaps in salt, water, pepper, simmer time and margin questions visibly flagged. Opened both HTML files in Chromium, checked contents anchors, printed to PDF: Claude 8 pages and omp 7 pages with each recipe beginning on its own page. No changed inputs or external assets.
Why an agent, not a chat window
An agent reads several local files, reconciles their untidy formats, and builds a linked, print-ready document without manual copy and paste.
