The prompt

Render this image as a 1927 premiere poster for Fritz Lang's Metropolis in the visual register of Heinz Schulz-Neudamm, built from monumental skyscraper geometry and machine age symmetry. Restrict the palette to brass gold, polished aluminum, ink black, atmospheric coal smoke gray, and one electric beam of cyan or white light cutting vertically. Compose around towering Art Deco verticals, stepped ziggurat skyscrapers, beaming searchlight columns, and the central axis treated as a cathedral nave. Render the subject with smooth airbrush gradient modeling, hard linear highlight edges where the brass catches light, and a slight metallic posterization that flattens curved surfaces into faceted planes. The atmosphere is monumental, industrial, religious in scale, presenting the modern city as a new cathedral and the human figure as its acolyte. Strictly no on-canvas text, no title lettering, no legible type, no studio marks, no watermark. Preserve the subject, pose, and composition of the source image exactly, change only the medium and rendering. Aspect ratio matches source.

What it is doing

The Metropolis poster did the conversion work that the film itself only dramatized. By rendering the industrial city as a cathedral with searchlight beams as its stained glass, Schulz-Neudamm sold the machine age to a generation that still went to church on Sunday. The Art Deco vertical is the same shape as a Gothic spire, deliberately, because the audience needed to feel the new religion in their body before their mind would let them name it. Any contemporary image rendered in this register is recruiting the viewer into the same conversion, which is why corporate towers still get photographed from below in cyan beam light.
