Ending A: The Portrait
The cloth falls away. The painting shows the gallery exactly as it is now, with one difference: a figure stands in the middle of the room, looking out. It is you.
When you turn around, the room is full of visitors in coats and hats, murmuring politely. They step around you as if you were an exhibit. A small brass plaque has appeared at your feet.
The Hollis Museum has finally opened, and you are its first acquisition.
